Play is an extension of Particle which is a furniture homeware brand, using 100% recycled content EVA material from sports footwear product.
The Process
20 billion shoes are produced annually, resulting in industrial waste from off-cuttings and extraneous materials. The waste from a single shoe can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in landfills.

Collect Your Industrial Waste (EDPM, EVA)
With a focus on recycling footwear waste, EDPM, EVA, and cork, Particle will take the raw goods and curate custom color formulations with the brand.

Grind and Re-Manufacture

Design Bespoke Branded Material Collaboration
Once ground up, the material is pressed and cut to the desired sizing per the project. Every sheet is unique. And we can also work on custom moulds for 3D objects such as trays, vases, or curved pedestals.
